Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. was awarded the 2015/2016 contract to construct a new concrete water intake structure for the New Gold Mine water management pond system in Rainy River, ON. Built in 2 lifts, the 40’ tall cast in place structure contained internal vertical baffle walls and a cast in place lid with removable galvanized steel grates. Work on this project was completed during the winter, requiring heating and hoarding.

In 2017, Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. was awarded the contract to build the Mine Rock Pond Intake Structure, completed in 3 lifts with 40’ internal vertical baffle walls.

Other works completed by Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd at the New Gold Rainy River Mine site included various concrete structures, aprons and house keeping pads for the primary crusher and mill.

Works completed at the New Gold Rainy River Mine site required stringent safety training and compliance by all.
