As part of our ongoing, long term relationship, Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. worked with Princess Auto Ltd. to design and build a new 40,000 ft2 distribution centre addition to their existing facility.

The addition was constructed with precast piles, a concrete foundation with a 14 bay loading dock, a structural steel frame with large open web steel joists and precast concrete wall panels, firewall and approach paving of the surrounding yard. A lift station was designed to remove rainwater for the loading dock area and a new water service to the building was installed.

One of the unique aspects that the application of value engineering added to the design of this building was incorporating wall panels that can be removed and reused for future expansions to the north and east sides of the distribution centre.
