The successful bidder for the NAV Canada Winnipeg Area Control Centre Interior Renovation project, Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. took on the role of general contractor to complete upgrades to NAV Canada’s existing facility, creating a welcoming, modern space.

The challenge of working within an active workspace in an active air traffic control facility required creative solutions and scheduling for the three floor, four phased interior renovation of the following areas:

• Main entrance reception and lobby area
• Main floor cafeteria/lounge area and office area
• Second floor training facilities and boardroom
• Lower level fitness room and male/female locker rooms

The addition of new fitness and lounge areas contribute to overall employee health and wellness. The open main floor and lobby space, with access to the patio area, provides increased natural lighting to the area for a relaxing environment for employees and guest alike.
