With a tight timeline to open their new space in St. Vital Centre in time for the lucrative of Black Friday shopping day, Cell Mechanics, a smartphone repair specialist, hired Ernst Hansch Construction as their design-builder. A key feature of the store’s many unique requirements was a highly visible contaminant-free repair room where customers could watch specialists at work.

Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. collaborated with the landlord (St. Vital Centre), Fenwick & Company Interior Design and the Cell Mechanics team to design and build a store that included an attractive, functional storefront and retail space. Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. scheduled and coordinated the work without disruption to the operating shopping centre, successfully achieved Fenwick & Company’s design with attention to detail, while meeting the schedule for the store’s opening date.

The specialized repair area included a HEPA air filtration system which pressurized the room to create a contaminant free zone and included a grounded static dissipative floor to prevent damage to the electronics during repairs. The store’s multimedia displays and glazing drew the attention of customers and enhanced sightlines into the specialized repair area.

Ernst Hansch Construction Ltd. delivered an attractive store that draws in customers, meets all functional and aesthetic requirements and provides a safe and controlled electronic repair environment. Through strong oversight and coordination, the store was completed on schedule and its doors were open for Black Friday.
